Exterior and Interior Features
This truck benefits from a fully-boxed frame. It's tough and durable, and you can use the available power tailgate when loading and unloading your cargo. Additional storage space is found in the front, where an engine would be in a traditional vehicle. This front trunk, or "frunk" as we call it, has hooks, tie-downs, and a cargo net. Additionally, it has four 120V outlets and two USB outlets. More storage is included in the truck's cabin. The rear seat can be flipped up to access a convenient compartment.
Five people can fit together comfortably in the Lightning. The standard package includes dual-zone electronic automatic climate control, push-button start, and heated front seats. A higher trim can have power-adjustable front seats and a driver's seat with a memory function. The rear seats can be heated, too, and leather upholstery is available. The Platinum's front seats can even treat you to a massage as you travel around Buford.
Technology
If you love technology, you'll appreciate what the Lightning offers. Its basic technology package includes a 12-inch touchscreen, navigation, and a SYNC 4 interface. When the Wi-Fi hotspot is engaged, it can connect with up to ten devices. Many models are upgraded with 15.5-inch touchscreens, SiriusXM, and Bang and Olufsen sound systems. Further, all Lightning trucks are equipped with 12-inch digital productivity screens.
Safety
Most importantly, perhaps, this Ford truck can keep you safe. Its driver-assist systems, such as lane-keeping assist, pre-collision assist, and blind-spot monitoring, can look out for problems that could arise as you commute from Canton to Duluth. Automatic emergency braking and corrective steering can engage if needed. Plus, some Lightnings can handle steering and adjust your speed on certain types of roads.
