Subaru of America is leaving Cherry Hill, New Jersey, its home base since 1986, and moving seven miles away, to Camden. The $118 million corporate headquarters will be located next to the world headquarters of the Campbell Soup Company.
Subaru of America has had its headquarters in the state of New Jersey for nearly 50 years. Thomas J. Doll, president and chief operating officer of Subaru of America, spoke enthusiastically about keeping the streak alive: “We are very excited to be moving this project forward as we seek to bring our family of employees together on one site. This signing cements the long-term future of Subaru in the Delaware Valley and we are pleased that, after almost 50 years here, we can plan to continue to be a part of the local community we have supported for so long.”
The ceremonial initial earth-moving was performed by a specially manufactured Outback with an attached plow. The project is scheduled for completion at the end of 2017.
